How To Meditate! 'Simple I AM Meditations for Beginners'

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night that thou may keep and do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way to prosper, and then thou shalt understand everything.

I had a business friend ask me last week; "Bernard, do you meditate?" I said yeah, daily! He asked; "how?" This question started me thinking that we should not take for granted that people know how to meditate. So in the blog I will teach you the simple principles of the illusive concept of meditation. Meditation is good and it's simple. Meditation develops your consciousness. Consciousness is a sense of awareness, a sense of knowing, a sense of being. Meditation makes us conscious of being.

Being conscious and aware through meditation is a wonderful way to live.

Meditation opens your understanding.



God has revealed His Nature in His Name which is “I AM”. That Nature is in us. Our sense of identity with I AM is the one thing that transcends this physical life of limitation. When we hold onto this sense of “I AM” it will lead us to the Divine. It will lead us to the God kind of Life, the abundant life of prosperity and health. Attention must be turned from outward, the physical senses back inward toward the Divine I AM.

Meditate and focus on I AM.



Sit silently alone in a room or a place where you'll not be disturbed. Start affirming under your breath the words "I AM." Meditation expands your consciousness. When this expansion of consciousness is attained you grow spiritually. Do this and you will discover that within you all things are divinely possible. Anything you can conceive of being  will seem to be a natural attainment.


Say to yourself over and over again, "I am; I am; I am." As you do, just  feel yourself to be. Persist until you cut the anchor that binds you to your problems and you will move out into the depth of their solution.

Application: Simple meditation for beginners

  1. Sit or lie comfortably.

  2. Close your eyes. ... 

  3. Make no effort to control the breath; simply breathe naturally.

  4. Focus your attention on breath and on how the body moves with each inhalation and exhalation. (Relax)

  5. Focus on a specific scripture or affirmation and quietly contemplate its meaning and significance.

  6. Affirm or mutter under your breath the Truth of the scripture/affirmation to yourself. (10 to 20 minutes)

  7. Imagine that you have received the desires of your heart fulfilled.


Imagine that you have received the desires of your heart fulfilled all day long! During the course of a day you imagine many things, but instead of imagining lots of small things, I would suggest that you imagine something so big it includes all the little things. Imagine wealth, health and friends, imagine being ecstatic. 


Make the I AM Affirmations and meditate on them:
