There are bank accounts on earth. Most of us have at least one. You can have earthly accounts—just don’t put your trust in them. There are also bank accounts in heaven, the realm of ever-expanding goodness. Now let‘s get insight into The First National Bank of Heaven! Philippians 4:14-19 talks about the concept of the individual‘s heavenly account. The Greek uses accounting terms here.
Paul the apostle said in Philemon 18 (AMP): ―If he has done you any wrong in any way or owes anything [to you], charge that to my account.
BANKS ACCOUNTS IN HEAVEN
There are bank accounts in heaven. Matthew 6:19-21 makes this clear. They (the heavenly accounts) are not subject to theft, ruin, corruption or economic conditions of any kind.
In Luke 12:33 Jesus tells us of a treasure in heaven that fails not.
Many do not realize they already have an account in heaven.
The Philippians had established an account in heaven by giving to the work of Paul the apostle.
Verse 15 is most insightful (GOS Translation): ―No church but yours went into partnership and opened an account with us. They opened their account by giving.
Verse 17 (AMP Translation): Not that I seek or am eager for [your] gift, but I do seek and am eager for the fruit which increases to your credit [the harvest of blessing that is accumulating to your account].
Paul was saying:
I seek fruit that accrues to your account.
I am anxious to see abundant returns placed to your account.
I am anxious for the interest that accumulates to your divine account.
I seek for the profit, which increases to your account.
What I value most is the interest that is mounting up in your account.
Matthew 6:19-21 gives us the secret of making deposits into our heavenly accounts.
There are two primary ways to make deposits: One is by tithing and the other is by giving.
Mark 10:29-30 teaches that we can receive a hundredfold return for Investing in the message of Life. By the way, the hundredfold return is for this life. Jesus encouraged the rich young ruler to ―Go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven (Matthew 19:21). This means in your heavenly account. Giving to the poor is one way of laying up treasure in heaven (Proverbs 19:17). God has a heart for the poor, because He does not want any of His children to struggle with finances. As we give to the poor, or to the gospel we honor the Great I AM!
